Moody Ben Cruachan

from $1,500.00

20x30 inches.

Oil on Gessoboard

--

I stayed at a lovely farm in Cladich and met Queenie and John, the owners. John took me to meet the animals and also took me to the edge of Loch Awe where we had a magnificent view of Ben Cruachan, the mountain that gave the battle cry to Clan Campbell. So many things in this painting and that place exemplify me as a person, moody colors and weather, sea to peak elevation change in a short distance, magnificent views, and more history in that view than I’ll ever know. I could have stood there forever, which is why I had to paint it.
